a little bit about me

Raised in Hollywood, CA, I was exposed to the arts from a very early age. My family is filled with artists, musicians and actors. When I was little, in addition to classes I took on weekends, I attended a performing arts school, learning dance, music and art. It was also during this time that I realized my passion for fashion and beauty, though in early-80's Hollywood, it was first a fascination with mohawks, blue hair, and dark makeup. I attended a visual arts high school, focusing on photography, dabbling in other arts including jewelry making. For college I attended UCLA, majoring in Design & Media Arts, becoming well-versed in all aspects of graphic design.

For years I worked at independent retail stores, where I really enjoyed interacting with customers and getting an understanding for how businesses work. My desire for supporting an independent operation has always stayed with me in my quest for design work. I really enjoy working in an environment where I feel like I'm contributing to the team and company as a whole. For the last seven years, I've been fortunate enough to work with people who feel like family, giving as much of myself as I can to create solid designs, while helping a start-up grow into a successful business.

I'm hoping the future will continue to present opportunities where I can thrive creatively in a supportive environment. I feel I have a lot to offer, with best intentions and respect always at the forefront in all I do. One of my professors once said something to me which always gets me through moments of doubt--"you've got a really good eye." I'm curious to see where these eyes will look next.
